The Crown Mountain Trio formed in December 2023. The trio consists of pianist Mengyao Sun, violinist Yeasol Kang, and cellist Philip Snyder, all faculty members at the University of North Georgia. Since performing in Weill Recital Hall in March of 2024, the ensemble has played across the Southeast. The Crown Mountain Trio was named after the landscape of the North Georgia mountains, and Crown Mountain itself overlooks UNG’s Dahlonega campus.
