Featuring cellist Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė and pianist Georgijs Osokins, this heartfelt program pairs notable works by Pärt with a piece by the composer’s late friend and colleague, Giya Kancheli. The concert also treats listeners to Rachmaninoff’s soaring elegy for Tchaikovsky. A virtuosic and emotional piano trio composed at a truly grand scale, its performance is a musical event unto itself.
