Back on the 92Y stage this summer! Chamber music supergroup Joshua Bell, Steven Isserlis, and Jeremy Denk & friends return for two concerts – and two wholly different programs – of the radiant, poetic music of one of their favorite composers – the great Romantic, Robert Schumann.

Bell and Denk open this concert with the smoldering A-Minor Sonata, one of Schumann’s finest works, and one of Bell’s favorites. Isserlis joins for the passionate D-Minor Piano Trio. The second half opens with Isserlis and Denk in the intimate and fiery Adagio and Allegro before Bell returns, joined by friends Irène Duval and Blythe Teh Engstroem for the concert’s finale – the beloved Piano Quintet, one of Schumann’s great masterworks, and widely considered the first great piano quintet.
