Arcoiris Sandoval is a jazz pianist and composer residing in New York City originally from Tucson, Arizona. She leads her own trio and quintet project called Sonic Asylum which has been featured at the Kennedy Center, NYC Winterjazz Fest, Tucson Jazz Festival and Lincoln Center as well as many other festivals and venues. She has won a Chamber Music America Performance Plus grant for this ensemble to work with Billy Childs and her original composition “Journey to Agartha” has been recorded by the legendary George Cables and is also published in Terri Lyne Carrington’s compilation called “New Standards, 101 Lead Sheets by Women Composers”.
