OLIVIER MESSIAEN 8 Préludes (1928–29)

Juilliard pianists offer a meditation on our place in nature built around Francis of Assisi’s nearly 800-year-old song of praise to the natural world, featuring Olivier Messiaen’s 8 Préludes for piano (1928–29) alongside poetry by Allen Ginsberg, Joy Harjo, and Arthur Sze.

A new season of free Rush Hour Performances at Juilliard Station launches with a week entitled Pursuits of Happiness, celebrating the utopian imagination across centuries of artistic expression. Stop by during evening rush hours all week and encounter Juilliard performers working where bold ideas are put into practice.
