$35Karén Hakobyan conducts Pegasus: the Orchestra’s SEASON FINALE in a monumental program that takes the listener through a Journey of American Music. He begins the evening with a World Premiere of a COMMISSION by a Living American Composer (to be announced). Next, the stunning Piano Concerto of Amy Beach is performed by celebrated pianist Asiya Korepanova. This rarely performed masterpiece was premiered by Boston Symphony with the composer (Amy Beach) herself at the piano in 1900.
Following a brief intermission, Hakobyan concludes the concert with Antonin Dvoraks’ great Symphony No. 9 in E minor, “From the New World,” Op. 95 (1893). The symphony was premiered by the New York Philharmonic in 1893 at Carnegie Hall.
