DESCRIPTION:Building on the earlier traditions of the piano quintet\, Elgar’s A-minor Quintet was composed later in his career\, during a time of reflection just after World War I. Likewise\, Brahms’s Third Violin Sonata has a sense of nostalgia\, written towards the end of his compositional career.
