Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Schumann Quintet; Ken Noda, Piano (Site)

Composed in 1842, Schuman’s “year of chamber music”, the piano quintet is one of the most beloved pieces of the repertoire because of its unrestrained passion, technical brilliance, and melodic beauty. It was composed, of course, for his wife Clara. Join distinguished composer and public radio personality Bruce Adolphe for investigations and insights into masterworks performed during the Alice Tully Hall season. Inside Chamber Music lectures are beloved for their depth, accessibility, and brilliance. Each lecture is supported by live performance excerpts from the featured work.
