Emmanuel Pahud, Flute & Alessio Bax, Piano, Play Beethoven, Franck, and More, at 92Y (Site)
Tuesday November 15, 2022, 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$25.00“In terms of both virtuosity and artistry, I haven’t heard another flutist who comes close to him,” wrote The Washington Post about a Kennedy Center concert with longtime principal flute of the Berlin Philharmonic Emmanuel Pahud.
He returns to our stage with his frequent chamber music partner, Leeds Competition-winning pianist Alessio Bax, following their triumphant sold-out Kaufmann Concert Hall appearance in 2018. Their program is one that lets every aspect of their artistry shine – a flute masterpiece in Bach’s B-Minor Sonata, BWV 1030, a Beethoven transcription, the New York premiere of a new work by gifted French composer Nicolas Bacri, and Pahud’s own arrangement of the lush, sweepingly romantic Franck Sonata that communicates the beauty and grandeur of this work as if it had been written for the flute.
Concert available for viewing online for 72 hours from time of broadcast.
