He is a prize winner of numerous international competitions\, including the Naumburg Competition\, Vendome Prize\, Beethoven Competition Vienna\, and the American Pianists Awards. In addition to performing\, Hong is a prolific arranger and orchestrator recognized for his innovative transcriptions that are featured in the touring programs of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra\, Mount Vernon Virtuosi\, and ensemble132\, which he co-directs. His primary mentors have included John Owings\, Leon Fleisher\, and Yong Hi Moon. A member of CMS’s Bowers Program and a Steinway Artist\, Hong is currently based in New York City and serves on the faculty of CUNY Queens College. \n\nRead full profile\n\n\n\n\n\nClose \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStella Chen\nViolin \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPraised for her “silken grace” and “brilliant command” (The Strad)\, American violinist Stella Chen captured international attention as the winner of the 2019 Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition\, followed by the 2020 Avery Fisher Career Grant. Her debut album\, Stella x Schubert\, was released in 2023 on Apple Music’s Platoon label to critical acclaim\, garnering her the title of Young Artist of the Year at the Gramophone Awards. Stella has performed across North America\, Europe\, and Asia\, appearing as soloist with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic\, Chicago Symphony\, Minnesota Orchestra\, San Francisco Symphony\, Brussels Philharmonic\, and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. A recently appointed faculty member of the Juilliard School\, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a doctorate from Juilliard\, and is an alum of CMS’s Bowers Program. From 1999 until 2013 he was a member of the world-renowned Tokyo String Quartet\, giving over 100 performances each year in the most prestigious international venues. As a soloist\, he has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra\, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra\, Seoul Philharmonic\, and the RAI Orchestra of Rome. Over 25 years\, he has built up a catalogue of landmark recordings\, most notably the complete Beethoven string quartet cycle for Harmonia Mundi with the Tokyo String Quartet. He was appointed professor at the Colburn School in Los Angeles in 2014. In 2019\, he became the artistic director of the Nevada Chamber Music Festival and was appointed director of chamber music master classes at the Chigiana International Summer Academy in Siena\, Italy. He is Solo Clarinetist with Ensemble MidtVest\, and as a chamber musician has partnered with Christian Tetzlaff\, Pekka Kuusisto\, Carolin Widmann\, Ani and Ida Kavafian\, Nicolas Dautricourt\, David Shifrin\, David Finckel\, Nicolas Altstaedt\, Wu Han\, Gilbert Kalish\, Anneleen Lenaerts\, Yura Lee\, Gilles Vonsattel\, and the Danish and Vertavo string quartets. As a guest principal in several orchestras\, he has collaborated with conductors including Zubin Mehta\, Vladimir Ashkenazy\, Fabio Luisi\, and Leonard Slatkin. As a soloist\, he has appeared with the Radio Television Orchestra of Slovenia\, Orchestra Canova\, and the Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico of Vicenza\, among others. An alum of CMS’s Bowers Program\, Lonquich is Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Schackenborg Musikfest\, and can be heard on more than twenty albums.  \n\nRead full profile\n\n\n\n\n\nClose \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRadovan Vlatković\nHorn \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRadovan Vlatković has performed extensively around the globe and popularized the horn as a recording artist and teacher. He is the winner of numerous competitions\, including the Premio Ancona in 1979 and the ARD Competition in 1983. He has premiered works by Elliott Carter\, Sofia Gubaidulina\, Heinz Holliger\, and several Croatian composers; he premiered Penderecki’s horn concerto\, Winterreise\, in Bremen in 2008 with the composer as conductor. As a chamber musician\, he has performed at Gidon Kremer’s Lockenhaus\, Svyatoslav Richter’s December Evenings in Moscow\, and András Schiff’s Mondsee\, as well as the Marlboro Festival\, Prussia Cove\, and the Casals Festival. He has appeared as soloist with many orchestras\, such as the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra\, Stuttgart Radio Orchestra\, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester\, Mozarteum Orchestra\, Santa Cecilia Orchestra Rome\, Melbourne Orchestra\, the NHK Orchestra in Tokyo\, and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. The recipient of several German Record Critics’ Awards\, he has recorded Mozart and Strauss concertos with the English Chamber Orchestra and Jeffrey Tate for EMI\, two-horn concertos by Leopold Mozart and Johann Friedrich Fasch with Hermann Baumann and Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields\, and the Britten Serenade for Tenor\, Horn\, and Strings with the Oriol Ensemble in Berlin.
