ABOUT LAFAYETTE HARRIS, JR. (piano)

Known as a “go to” pianist by many musicians and band leaders, Lafayette Harris, Jr. – born in Philadelphia & raised in Baltimore, Md, currently performs and records with Houston Person, Archie Shepp and with his own bands. He’s toured with late great music pioneer Max Roach, performed with the Duke Ellington Legacy Orchestra, and has recorded and toured with four time Grammy nominee – the late, Ms. Ernestine Anderson.

ABOUT KENNY DAVIS (bass)

Kenny Davis is an American jazz bassist. Davis released two albums as leader for Soul Note. He was also member of the Blue Note Records group Out of the Blue and has appeared on albums by Gary Bartz, Art Farmer, Don Byron, Eric Person, Michele Rosewoman, Onaje Allan Gumbs and others. Kenny is currently professor of Jazz Bass and Jazz History at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

ABOUT ALVESTER GARNETT (drums)

Alvester Garnett is an American jazz drummer who, among many other productions, has appeared on Great Performances on PBS in a tribute to Kurt Weill. Garnett has played with Abbey Lincoln, Betty Carter, Regina Carter, Clark Terry, Pharoah Sanders, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Teddy Edwards, James Carter, Cyrus Chestnut, Charenee Wade, Lou Donaldson, Benny Golson, Al Grey, Rodney Jones, and Sherman Irby, and others.
