Pre-College Student Recital

Yoojun Curtis Lee is an 11-year-old Korean violinist from Singapore.

He has moved to New York in 2023 after being accepted to Juilliard Pre-college.

He made his first orchestra soloist debut at the age of 9 and since then has performed in various venues. In 2023, he performed as soloist with the New Seoul Phil Orchestra in Korea as well as the Musician’s Initiative Orchestra in Singapore. He has also been invited to perform as soloist in various venues overseas such as the Parco Della Musica in Italy to the Carnegie Stern Auditorium and Weill Hall. He has also won numerous competitions and performed at several gala concert as 1st prize winner.

His most recent accomplishment was at the National Piano and Violin competition, which is organized by Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the most prestigious biennial competition in Singapore. He is currently competing in Ysaye Intl’ music competition (Belgium) as a semi-finalist. In June 2024, he will be making his debut in Hong Kong with the MCF orchestra. He started learning violin at the age of 6 while participating in his school’s Suzuki program and a year later was admitted to NAFA School of Young Talent’s Gifted Violin Programme in Singapore, a pre-college program studying with violinists like Chole Chua. In 2023, he moved to New York to further pursue his violin study at Juilliard.

He is currently studying with Professor Naoko Tanaka at Juilliard as well as violinist Richard Lin.
