National Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall (Site)
Tuesday April 18, 2023, 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
The National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Gianandrea Noseda have earned rave reviews for their work at Carnegie Hall. In the 2022–2023 season, hear internationally revered composer Sofia Gubaidulina’s dramatic “The Rider on the White Horse,” a segment from her St. John Easter in which “the scoring is expert from all angles … an amazing vision of a Biblical story” (Seen and Heard International). Also featured is Stravinsky’s The Firebird, based on a timeless Russian fairy tale, and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2, an exceptionally difficult work that makes full use of soloist Daniil Trifonov’s immense talent.
