$13.85 – $25.85Chicago-born pianist and bandleader James Austin Jr. makes his debut at Klavierhaus for a splendid evening of jazz piano on Tuesday, October 8, supported by Mike Karn on bass and Kayvan Gordon on drums.
A Thelonious Monk Competition semifinalist, he has shared stages worldwide with renowned artists and orchestrated acclaimed performances at Carnegie Hall. As a dedicated educator, Austin founded the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz and the ensemble Luminescence, preserving his mentor’s legacy. His debut album, Songs in the Key of Wonder, is a soulful tribute to Stevie Wonder, and he continues to enthrall audiences with his performances and leadership of the NJPAC Jazz Jam Session series.
