Acclaimed jazz pianist Leo Genovese debuts at Klavierhaus on Tuesday, August 27, with saxophonist Dan Blake.
Born in Venado Tuerto, Argentina, Leo studied classical piano at the National University of Rosario and contemporary music privately. In 2001, he moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music under artists like Danilo Perez and Joanne Brackeen. Graduating in 2003, he has collaborated with renowned musicians including Joe Lovano and Jack DeJohnette. His debut solo album, “Haikus II,” was released in 2004.
Currently based in New York, Leo performs with the Esperanza Spalding Group, the Wayne Shorter Group, and others. He aims for his music to inspire positive change in the world.
