Sunday July 23, 2023, 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
$15WIP at Room 31 Session #5 Feat: Ashni, Seawind of Battery, Neliie & Isaac DaBom!
Ashni is a Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and pianist. Her relationship with the stage began with classical North Indian dance, Kathak, and Western classical piano. A first-generation Indian American, she grew up absorbing Hindustani classical music and Garba, Gujarati folk music and dance. From these roots, she incorporates her love for pop, jazz, and R&B. Her work meditates on the relationships we build with the self, others, and community. Ashni has performed at Joe’s Pub, National Sawdust, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Rough Trade, Lincoln Center, and more. She is a member of the Resistance Revival Chorus. Her EP “Who I Dreamed Of” was released in March 2022, where she made her headlining debut at Joe’s Pub. Forthcoming work includes a full-length album, for which she received the 2022 NYC Women’s Fund Grant, and a collaboration on Ganavya Doraiswamy’s album “How To Cure A Ghost: The Album,” songs made from Fariha Roisin’s poetry.
Isaac DaBom (Omer Mor) is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, beatboxer and music producer from Tel Aviv, Israel. Using his voice, his guitar and other instruments, Isaac creates multilayered grooves live on the spot, with free-spirited musicality and improvisation, which make each show unique.
Nellie (she/her/hers) is an indie-pop singer/songwriter based out of NYC. She has been writing songs since she was a teenager but only began performing her original writings in 2019. Her music is driven by emotional real-life experiences and focuses on relationships with family, friends, and her past self. You can listen to her most recent release, Acquaintances, produced by indie duo, TOLEDO, on all streaming platforms.
